WHAT IS A POOCHON?
A poochon is a designer breed between a Bichon Frise and a Mini Poodle. Poochons are also called, BichonPoo, and Bichon Poodle
CHARACTERISTICS
Poochons are natural charmers. You will be stopped when you go for a walk with people asking to pet you sweet one.
Poochons are cuddly and playful. Poochons can be vocal. This is a trait that can be minimized. Early training will help curb this behaviour.
Poochons do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. They are very social and love the company of their human.
COAT AND CARE
Poochons coat is medium length and hypoallergenic. They have little to no shedding and do good with people who struggle with mild allergies. Because of this they do require regular grooming and brushing. The main colours of our Poochons are cream, tan and apricot.
EXERCISE
They are a perfect lap dog and enjoy napping beside you. But on the other hand they will want to burn off some of that energy with a nice walk or playing games with you. Poochons do very well with an active family and loves adventure.
HEALTH CONCERNS
The Poochon breed is predisposed to some of the same conditions that the Mini Poodle and Bichon Frise also face. While most are generally healthy, some may be prone to a few health issues. Which is why it's important to maintain good care and regular veterinary checkups.
Some of the more common health problems Poochons suffer from include: Patellar luxation, Retinal atrophy, Allergies, Addison’s disease, Bladder issues, Cushing’s disease.
PETS AND KIDS
Poochons do amazing with kids and other pets. They are very social and love attention. Play and spoil them, and they will be your best friend for life.
LIFE SPAN
The lifespan for Poochons are anywhere between 12-15 years.
APARTMENTS?
Poochons would be a great addition to your apartment lifestyle. They are great in small spaces. As long as regular walks and exercise are apart of their routine.
